I am a provider of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I use a combination of DBT, CBT, and other evidence based practices that work for individuals. I was also trained in and influenced by Family Systems, Humanist or Client-Centered Therapy,Feminist Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, among others. I also strongly believe in the holistic approach to health: caring for soul, mind and body to stay balanced. Much of my work has been with adolescents and families. I have helped clients and their families build relationships and put their lives on a positive track towards growth and renewal, even following extended periods of crisis. I help clients create plans to move towards achieving goals in life, and at working with individuals and families to reclaim cohesion and interpersonal connections. I have also worked with women with histories of trauma and abuse, and addiction. I have helped individuals begin healing from trauma by feeling safe in relationships, remembering and mourning losses, and reconnecting with their communities. Often trauma and addiction overlap, and much of the work in recovery has included resolving traumatic memories and accompanying mood disturbances.
