My approach is primarily systemic. I help clients look at their life challenges through the lens of Systems Theory, examining interactional patterns and feedback loops that have influenced your experience. I believe that since our families are the first group that we are ever a part of, the patterns of interaction that we learned from our families continue to guide us in later life. For couples, I believe it\'s important to look at the messages around relationships that each person is bringing into the relationship. Specific issues I work with clients on include: challlenges around relationships, career issues, weight and body image, depression, anxiety, and substance use/abuse issues. I also specialize in LGBT Community issues.Theories that inform my practice include: Bowen Family Systems, Structural, Narrative, Solution Focused, Contextual, and Cognitive Behavioral. In terms of insurance I am currently in-network for Aetna, CIGNA, First Choice Health Network (which includes many Group Health Options Members), LifeSynch, and Regence BlueShield as well as a variety of Employee Assistance Plans.
